External Debug.Print for Visual Basic

It is a real pain that when a Visual Basic program aborts, sometimes it leaves no message or trace as to what happens. There is also the need to be able to read the Debug.Print in a compiled .exe.

I have written a little program called Daisy 2003 Status, which you can call from any other program to get a status window.

Using it is very simple. Add the compiled program to the references and define an object that is a 'Daisy2003Status'.

Then use AddMessage with an appropriate message instead of Debug.Print. Other methods and properties control the caption, icon and position.

The source is available as a zipped project.

If you have a problem send me an E-Mail.

I suspect that this program would work with any other program that can use Active X!

Mixing Browsers and Dialogs

Over the last few years, we have been mixing browsers with conventional programming.

It is interesting technology :-
  1. You can open many browsers (Internet Explorer!) in the same program.

Ideal for watching several pages at the same time.

Look at the Daisy 2003 Multiple Browser!

  2. When a link is clicked in a browser window, you can capture this and perform all sorts of actions.

This is used extensively in Daisy 2003 to mechanise the program from the help.

  3. Programs such as Daisy 2003 Nota Bene can be written to create super-Bloggers for looking at web pages.

If you would like to know more about how Daisy Analysis can help you develop specialist browsers then visit the page on Specialist Browsers.

Daisy 2003 Multiple Browser

A new version of the Daisy Multiple Browser has now been uploaded.

The Daisy Multiple Browser is a simple (and almost free!) program that can show and refresh up to ten web pages in the same dialog at the same time.

This is a substantial upgrade to the previous version and the program is now delivered with several extra programs; Double Browser, Page Puller, Refreshing Browser, Web Site Spider and Zip Mailer.

Daisy 2003

Daisy 2003 is the latest version of the Daisy family of Data Mining and Visualisation programs.

Daisy is a 'Sophisticated Multi-Dimensional, Analysis and Graphical Program', that can turn any database into a series of powerful but easily-understood charts.
